Bottle and beehive vessels, hand-painted with hollyhocks, the flower that grows tallest in the garden. Sophie made nine to be shown together as a field, for the effect of mass repetition, a gathering of stems all standing tall. Stoneware with layered glaze. Available individually or as the full field of nine.

Work from the collection is available to pre-order from 1 September. The exhibition runs in store from 8 to 13 September. After that, all work is ready to collect from the shop, or for dispatch, from 14 September.

Bio

Sophie Alda is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and maker working primarily in clay, paper, paint, and print. Her practice spans functional design, decorative objects, and fine art pieces—crafted with a distinctive, playful approach to colour and texture. Sophie is a founding member of artist-led studio cooperatives in London and Bristol, operating since 2014. These spaces reflect her commitment to fostering democratic, collaborative environments where artists and designers can share skills, ideas, and resources. She is also an experienced facilitator and educator. Since 2015, she has developed and delivered creative workshops and educational programming for leading arts organisations, including Tate, Camden Art Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, Crafts Council, and Somerset House.
